D167Z121.TIF Nora Azadian A prize pupil of the distinguished painter Ashod Zorian of Cario, Egypt and a graduate of ABC School of Arts in Paris, Nora Azadian(Ipekian) is noted also as an art teacher, whose students have won top honors in competitions in Egypt, Armenia, India and UNESCO children’^s competitions in Germany and Poland. She has expressed her versatile artistic talent in a variety of art media – through spontaneous bursts of watercolors, meditative oil paintings and imaginative abstract designs on textile. Her radiant watercolors express vivacious interpretation of life using exquisitelu bright colors. Her oil paintings – most in different variations of blues – are more philosophical and meditative in approach and reveal a mastery of technique, coupled with a deep artistic mood. She is perfectly at ease with portraits landscapes and stil lives. Recently, she had an extended trip to Armenia, where she witnessed the living monuments, and picturesque scenes of nature. Upon her return to the U.s., all these impressions found their vivid and lively interpretation in a series of oil paintings and watercolors, whose entire collection was named “My Armenia” anda re presented şn one show as theme and variations. Arid mountains of Armenia have sometimes been captured in canvases they given way to rythmic patterns, in dual values of figuration and abstact painting. Under Nora’s brush, Armenia comes alive in her most poetic and colorful features.
